In April 2007, Dresser-Rand acquired the Gimpel line of valves. Gimpel started producing valves in 1948. Since then they have expanded their original steam design used by the nation's turbine suppliers to include safe, reliable emergency shut-down and control valves for marine applications (aircraft and submarines), and for the power and the oil and gas industries.
Steam Turbine Protection & Control Valves
Steam turbine protection valves are part of the overall rotating equipment protection system and include trip, trip throttle and non-return valves.
Trip Throttle Valves
A trip throttle valve is located at the main steam inlet of the turbine and functions to quickly shut off supply steam when an emergency operating condition occurs.
